Frequently Asked Questions.
Window Tint
-
Yes, water bubbles are normal to see after tint is installed. A lightly soapy solution is used to apply the film onto the glass. A small amount of water remains under the film in the form of small bubbles. The bubbles will dry out within 1-2 weeks depending on the temperature and amount of heat/sunlight the glass gets.
-
Yes, it is perfectly fine to wash your vehicle right away after getting tint done. The film is on the inside of the glass and will not be affected by washing the outside of the car.
-
Prolonged exposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays can break down the film’s adhesive over time. This can cause bubbling, fading, and even peeling of the film. Lower quality films tend to fail more quickly, while high quality films can remain without failing for the life of the vehicle.
-
The window tint laws are different in every state and can be found on your state government’s website, or by visiting www.tinting-laws.com.
-
The factory tinted glass normally has a darkness between 13-27%. This glass only has a dye added to give it color. It has no heat rejection, or UV ray protection properties like window tint provides. Therefore, it is very common that many people add window film over the factory colored glass to increase privacy, protection, and comfort in their vehicle.
-
The darkness of the film affects everyone differently depending on the individual’s natural vision ability. If you have difficulty seeing at night time, it is probably better to choose a tint that is 30% or lighter. We offer a 30,50, or 70% ceramic film that can give you excellent heat and UV protection while not being dark enough to hinder vision significantly.
Ceramic Coating
-
You should not use harsh chemicals to clean your vehicle’s exterior. Hand washing with only good quality products is recommended. Touch based car washes can wear out the coating sooner and possibly leave minor scratches on it’s surface. Also avoid washing the vehicle for at least 24 hours after the coating is applied.
-
Dirt and grime, acid in tree pollen, bug splatter, and bird droppings all can eventually eat through the coating if left on the paint long enough. The coating gives greatly enhanced protection against these types of damages, but it is recommended to regularly wash your vehicle at least once every 2-4 weeks.
-
Hand washing with a high quality wash mitt, a pressure washer, and a car wash soap with good lubricants is best.
-
That depends on the type of coating that was applied and it’s life expectancy. If you notice the water repellent properties of your coating have greatly diminished, it could mean your coating is wearing off and it might be time to renew. It can also help to add another layer of ceramic coating, or apply a ceramic booster to strengthen and lengthen the life of your original coating further.
-
Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a thicker clear polyurethane film with an adhesive backing that is applied to areas of the vehicle’s paint to act as a shield primarily against rock chips and road debris damaging the paint. It also is able to protect from minor scratches and scuffs, bird droppings, bugs, tree sap, and similar. Ceramic coating is a liquid that bonds to the clear coat surface and creates a hardened shell of protection from many similar types of damages. PPF can do protections from some heavier forms of damage mentioned above which the coating cannot do. PPF is more durable but also is higher cost and more labor intensive to apply. Yet the ceramic coating offers other benefits, such as UV protection, oxidation prevention, paint etching prevention, slick and easy to clean exterior, acid rain protection, greater hydrophobics, and the intense mirror glazed shine that magnifies the paint so beautifully. Both are great choices for their own unique characteristics. The choice between the two depends on your needs, budget, and personal preference. If you are looking for a long-lasting, durable solution, PPF may be the best choice. If you are looking for a solution that enhances the shine and gloss of your paint, Ceramic Coating may be the best choice. For Ultra protection and shine we recommend pairing these services to get the benefits of both.
-
For a high quality ceramic coating to be done properly, the car needs to be cleaned thoroughly and contaminates on the clear coat should be removed. Then the coating can be patiently applied to panels in the appropriate way. Depending on the size of the vehicle and the type of coating being used, the full application can take between 4-6 hours. If extra services are added, such as coating the wheels, or some paint correction, the full process can take longer.
Paint Protection Film
-
PPF was designed specifically to apply to the painted surfaces of the vehicle. It is most commonly used on the areas of the paint that receive the most wear and tear from road debris, etc: Hood, Fenders, Bumper, Mirrors, Rocker Panels, A Pillars, Front Edge of Roof, Trunk Lip. PPF can also be applied to some plastic surfaces such as head lights and some emblem covers. It cannot be applied to plastic molding pieces on the exterior.
-
That depends on how large of a package you are putting on the vehicle, how many pieces, and the degree of difficuly. A smaller package usually can be finished in one day. A medium sized package can take 2-3 days. A full vehicle package will likely be 4-5 days.
-
A lower quality PPF, and there are many, may last 1-3 years before adhesive failure or turning yellow from the sun’s UV rays. A high quality PPF should be able to last about 10 years, and have no yellowing or adhesive problems. The life span of any PPF can vary depending on how it is cared for and exposure to elements. It is recommended to remove the PPF a bit before it reaches the end of it’s life.
-
Yes, it definitely works to help prevent damage to the paint on your car. Rock chips or other dings that break your paint’s surface can cause gradual deterioration of the paint further. If metal is exposed, it can start areas of rust on the car’s panels. PPF greatly reduces the possibility of these types of damage. The film can later be removed and the paint will still be like new, preserving the resale value of your vehicle.
-
It is recommended to wait 24-48 hours before washing your vehicle to allow the film to cure well enough. Also, hand washing with good quality wash products is best, and no pressure washing.
-
Yes, the two products work extremely well when paired together. The PPF protects from the heavier road debris and rock chips, while the ceramic coating adds protection from the UV rays, etch marks, bug splatters, acid rain, bird droppings, gives greater hydrophobics, and the unmatched intense mirror glazed shine. They are the best protections available for your treasured ride!
Vinyl Wraps and Decals
-
High quality vinyl wraps, when installed and removed correctly, will not damage the paint. They are designed to remain secure when applied, but can be removed without leaving adhesive behind or pulling off paint.
-
A partial vehicle wrap of only 1-2 panels can be completed normally within 1 day. A full vehicle wrap can take 3-5 days depending on the size and difficulty of the vehicle.
-
Yes, it definitely matters so you can get the best results for your vehicle. Inexperienced installers may be able to do fairly well on the easier parts of the vehicle, but the complex curves and edges can prove very challenging. There are many installer tricks that are learned with more time and experience using these types of products. If you desire a professional quality wrap job so you can have peace of mind about your treasured ride looking right for years to come, then you definitely want an experienced pro doing the work.
-
Vinyl wraps can start to peel due to impacts, tears, or dirt building up under the edges. Improper washing with a pressure washer or high-pressure car wash can also cause your wrap to peel, so it is important to stick to recommended cleaning methods. Regular hand washing every 2-4 weeks with good quality wash products is best.
-
When a car is wrapped, the resale value is considerably greater than for a car that has been repainted. This is primarily because the wrap can be removed without damaging the car. The wrap preserves the paint, so the value of your car ends up higher because it still looks new. Also, vehicles with a wrap still in good condition can be easy to sell to the right kind of buyer that appreciates the unique factor of the car.
-
It is recommended to wait 3-5 days after your vinyl wrap is installed before washing it, and if possible, try to keep your car out of the rain. The adhesive on the vinyl needs time to cure down to the paint properly.
